Ex-soldier apologizes to Iraqi family for raping, killing

Steven Green was found guilty in U.S. District Court in Kentucky for raping a 14-year-old girl then murdering her, killing the parents and finally killing her 6-year-old little sister while he was serving in the U.S. military (Iraq  2006.).  Relatives came over and attended the sentencing.  Guess what he was sentenced to?  Life without parole.  As you can guess the relatives weren't happy with the sentence.

Green apologized and told the family he was sorry and that he knew the family wished he were dead.

I would think that raping and killing the 14-year-old would be special circumstances by itself.  I wonder why the jury couldn't come to a unanimous decision.  Oh, Green now states that the Iraq War is "intrinsically evil, because killing is intrinsically evil."
